The first Serbian Migration Museum
A big group of intellectuals and leaders of various NGO and philanthropists with dual ethnic identities and citizenships officially founded first Serbian Migration Museum in Belgrade. (In Serbian language  :Srpski Muzej rasejanja i seoba).
It is a two-way museum (Emigrants and Immigrants Museum) and its mission can be explained as “Serbia in the World, World in Serbia”. We are collecting and exhibiting artefacts for both emigrants and for immigrants and refugees.
This Immigrants part of Serbian Migrant Museum is very important for war thorn South East Europe ,Balkan and Serbia to build multicultural society in Serbia and region by full and proper acknowledgement positive impact and empathy for numbers of diasporas and refugees in Serbia like Jews, Chinese, Greeks, Gipsy, Germans, Hungarians, Albanians, Turks and new Serbians with double citizenship or identities like Croatian-Serbian, Australian-Serbian, American-Serbian, German -Serbian ,French-Serbian ,Albanian-Serbian witch usually  involve mixed marriages and ancestry.
Serbia now has the biggest European percentage of population born out of Serbia and one of biggest population of new overseas emigrants (Australia, USA, and Canada).
We are exhibiting pictures and life stories from Serbian emigrants. Serbia has a huge Diaspora around the globe and without any place to send and to exhibit stories and books about their life in USA, Australia, Canada, European Union states, before this Serbian Migrant Museum. They got hundreds Serbian churches and Serbian cultural centres and clubs around globe but most of people from Serbia not aware hour many big Serbian cultural and sport centres are built in Australia with big help fro Australian Government or American, Canadian governments and so on. During long communist era it was secret and we would like to show this huge Diaspora heritage and same time to establish better conditions for new Diaspora in Serbia like Chinese or refugee.
Main supporter of Museum is oldest Serbian charity Serbian Business Association “Entrepreneur “ Privrednik established since 1897 and Serbian and Hungarians from Australia, France; Austria and Germany and Israel.
We are in project how Diaspora can help Serbia to build faster free market and democratic institutions in order to join European Union ASAP. Part of this contribution of returned emigrant expert is initiated to build Serbian Migration Museum.
Third part of Migration Museum is devoted to returned migrants, both voluntarily and forced.
Serbian government just signed contract with EU about obligation to receive tens of thousand illegal emigrants from Serbia. Most of them belongs to ethnic minorities like Roma ( Gipsy, Albanian ,Muslim-Bosnian…).Mission of our Museum is to make exhibition and activities together with another NGO ,IMO, Unesco, UNDP to prevent racist and xenophobic reactions.
At the same time, we need to facilitate returning of skilled migrants like other Balkan state to foster foreign investment and integration in global economy like Chinese, Indian, Nort Korean, Romanian and Israeli Diaspora.
For them Museum will provide a virtual Museum using latest collaborative software tools like Wiki, My space, and web 2.0 internet technologies.

The director of the museum is the Professor Zoran Jovicic with Australian and Serbian Citizenship. He was professor at the Florida State and University of Florida. He is computer and migration expert. He worked for Mission Australia and Australian departments of education migrant projects.
Lecturer Julia Sokola was born in Hagen Germany, with Hungarian Serbian origin. She lecture at University of Novi Sad German Language department and works for GTZ biggest German Development Organization.
