PLURAL+ 2010 Youth Video Festival
PLURAL+ is aimed at involving youth in addressing the key challenges in their communities related to migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights and social cohesiveness. PLURAL+ invites young media makers up to 25 years of age to submit their videos. Deadline for entries is 30 June, 2010.
Call for papers - Migrations: scientific perspectives and museum mediations
This conference is organised by the Musée de la civilisation in Québec City, in partnership with the Centre de recherche en civilisation canadienne-française and the Centre interuniversitaire d’études québécoises. Stating current researches understanding the correlation between researches and museum practices, and finally studying the way the history of migrations is presented in exhibitions are the main goals of this conference (4-6 November 2010, Quebec City).
Launch of the Workers Museum in Newtown (Johannesburg)
As part of the launch of the Workers Museum in Newtown, a public Walk About through the new permanent exhibition took place on Saturday, 6th of March 2010, from
11:00 – 13:00. After extensive restoration of the old Newtown municipal workers' compound, the heritage site now opens as the “Workers Museum- A Site of Labour Migration“ to the public.

On 4 December 2000, the UN General Assembly, taking into account the large and increasing number of migrants in the world, proclaimed 18 December International Migrants Day (resolution 55/93). On that day, in 1990, the Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
UNESCO commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
10 December 2008 – World Human Rights Day – the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be 60 years old. On this symbolic date, UNESCO and all of its networks are organizing numerous events around the world to promote the rights contained in this Declaration and to offer the general public an opportunity to better understand the essential contribution made by UNESCO to enhance and develop the four rights which fall within its fields of competence.

Our Canadian Stories
The member of Migration Museums Network, Pier21, is launching the pilot project Our Canadian Stories Project. It is an interesting initiative to collect immigration, nation building and cultural diversity heritage stories from all across Canada.
