International Network of Migration Institutions
Promoting the public understanding of migration

PLURAL+ is aimed at involving youth in addressing the key challenges in their communities related to migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights and social cohesiveness. PLURAL+ invites young media makers up to 25 years of age to submit their videos. Deadline for entries is 30 June, 2010.

PLURAL+ 2010 Youth Video Festival

The PLURAL+ Video Festival is an empowering tool for young people to speak out about what they think of migration and diversity, using their own views and voices. The PLURAL+ Video Festival gives youth a platform to say what they think and to make themselves heard by people from all over the world.
The PLURAL+ Video Festival is for youth. Anyone can enter the Video Festival as long as they are between the ages of 9-25.
All entries must be received by Midnight (New York City Time, GMT -5hours) on June 30, 2010. Any videos received after this time will not be considered by the PLURAL+ Video Festival organizers.
The video should be about migration and diversity – two things that are very important in our globalizing world. The PLURAL+ Video Festival wants you to tell us what you think about things like migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights and social unity. Videos must be between 1 and 5 minutes long, including title and end credits. Any submissions falling outside of this time restraint will not be considered.

Judging for the PLURAL+ Jury Award will be performed by an international jury, whose names and biographies are available on the website. There will be 3 age-based categories for judging: 9-12, 13-17, and 18-25.

The PLURAL+ International Jury will select three videos (one for each age group) and award them with the PLURAL + International Jury Award.

  • These awardees will receive $ 1,000USD each as well as, when possible, an invitation (travel and accommodations expenses paid) to attend the November 12th, 2010 PLURAL + Awards Ceremony in New York City.

In addition to the PLURAL + International Jury Awards, special awards will be given by some of the Partner Organizations.
